DYSMENORRHEA

The term dysmenorrhea describes painful menstruations with lower abdominal pain.

Painful menstruation is frequent at the end of puberty and pre-menopause, periods of high hormonal variation. Prevailing menstrual pains vary from 50 to 80% according to age group. Off this number, 5 to 15% of women are sufficiently affected that they need to alter their daily activities (forced rest, scholar or professional absenteeism).

Some formal studies and case studies have shown the effectiveness of chiropractic in helping patients suffering from dysmenorrhea.
