PRE MENSTRUAL SYNDROME

Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a collection of physical, emotional and psychological symptoms that occur during the last two weeks of the menstrual cycle.
It affects approximately 30 to 40% of women, in whom physical pain and emotional stress are sufficient to disturb their daily life.
Symptoms can be emotional (depression, anger, irritability, anxiety, etc.), physical (bloating, abdominal cramps, muscular/articular aches, headaches, fatigue, disturbances in sleep pattern, etc.), and psychological (difficulty concentrating, confusion, reduced efficiency, etc.).
Several formal studies and numerous case studies have demonstrated an association between PMS and vertebral/pelvic dysfunctions on one end, and the relief that chiropractic care provides to those suffering from PMS on the other. The improvement noted concerns the mood swings, irritability, motor and cognitive functions, physical symptoms, cardiac palpitations, back pain, depression, etc.
